All our clasps are also Made in Germany and are manufactured in Pforzheim by the metal manufacturer Craiss.
Which folding clasp width is the right one?
Measure the width of your bracelet where the clasp will sit - this is the clasp width you need. Common sizes are 16 mm, 18 mm or 20 mm. The clasp must fit this width exactly.

18/16 mm means that the strap is 18 mm wide at the lugs of the watch and tapers to 16 mm at the clasp. You will then need a 16 mm wide folding clasp as it is attached to the narrower part of the strap.
What is the difference between a folding clasp and a normal clasp?
The main difference between a folding clasp and a regular clasp (such as a pin buckle) is the handling and comfort. A folding clasp opens and closes using a simple "folding" system, making it easier to put the watch on and take it off. It is particularly practical as it does not put as much strain on the strap and in many cases is more secure as it does not come loose as easily.
A normal pin buckle, on the other hand, consists of a pin that is inserted into a hole in the bracelet and is somewhat easier to use, but less comfortable and often less secure than a folding clasp.
How secure is the folding clasp?
Folding clasps generally offer a higher security factor than normal pin clasps. They are designed in such a way that they cannot easily come undone, even with movement or pressure, thanks to a solid "locking mechanism system".
Many folding clasps also have a safety feature that prevents the clasp from opening unless it is intentionally operated. This makes them particularly reliable for everyday use and for activities where there is a risk that a normal clasp will open accidentally. In comparison, pin clasps are simpler and secure enough for everyday use, but they do not offer the same protection against accidental opening.
Does every pin buckle fit every strap?
Not every buckle will fit every strap, as the buckle's pin needs a specific diameter to match the holes in the strap. Our standard buckles fit almost any strap, except for the Casablanca model, which requires a larger pin diameter.
