Apple Watch Band Nubuck Leather Mountain Bear Modern

For our nubuck leather watch band, we use cowhide leather from Italy. Nubuck leather is lightly sanded on the front (grain side) of the hide to achieve the velvety, water-repellent surface. The embossed groove along the edge and on the loops gives the band a light and elegant appearance.

The general term for nubuck leather, which refers to all types of leather with a velvety or rough surface, is “suede.” These leathers are sanded on the surface, making them soft and velvety. They also have a warm feel and an attractive texture. Suede is a type of rough leather that comes from the flesh side of the hide.

Nubuck, on the other hand, is a rough leather that is sanded on the grain side. When leather is sanded on the smooth grain side, it is called nubuck leather. The smooth side is sanded until it has the characteristic velvety surface. This process gives nubuck leather its warm feel and high breathability.

Nubuck leather thus has very similar properties to suede (as used in our Nizza band), but it has a very different look and feel. It is much smoother and does not feel rough on the surface at all.

The processing of the high-quality nubuck leather watch band further enhances the pleasant properties of the leather.
